As a company we at Noakes Building Services believe building better means a better building. Having been established for over 25
years providing quality and valued services to all our clients, we have maintained our ethos to ensure we give all our clients warm and safe
homes or office spaces.
Over the last 15 years we have been expanding into new build properties and house refurbishment, with this progression of projects across the
last 15 years, we have moved across to timber framed construction as our main method of building. This has since yielded us manufacturing our
own timber frames, joining the structural timber association early in 2015. We are now aiming ourselves at supplying timber frames to self-builders
and other building companies throughout the UK, with our goal being to provide all our clients with timber frames and buildings that exceed their
expectations.
Noakes Building Services overall business philosophy is based on the principle of working ‘With People in Mind’. This philosophy is the essence of our business culture and the basis of our Health and Safety, Environmental and Quality Policies.
Our environmental goals are based on two principles; assisting the protection of the earth’s natural habitat by conserving and enhancing biodiversity and minimising the impact of our business activities on the earth’s resources.
To meet these goals we will work in partnership with our stakeholders and provide clear and honest information on the impact of our business activities on the environment. To minimise this we have already installed a bio mass boiler to heat our own premises, together with a large rain water harvesting unit for use in toilets, washing machines and horticulture.
We are an environmentally responsible builder and are sure that the environment matters to you as much as it matters to us. We aim to do our bit to help protect the planet for future generations and we therefore follow 5 simple rules with each of our developments.
We re-use land or make the most of existing structures wherever we can. To reduce the amount of new building land we require we endeavour to re-use as much existing building land for our new developments as possible.
We always create developments that are in harmony with their location. We want to protect the natural environment of a new site so we survey and research each area extensively. Only then can we design the development's layout around its most natural features.
Sustainable eco-friendly materials are used wherever possible. As an example we try to use aggregate from the closest source to reduce pollution from transportation. We also try to use timber from sustainable managed plantations and we favour non-toxic water-based paints. What’s more, we insist that all of our suppliers and contractors attempt to do the same.
Our waste is effectively managed and recycled. This includes recycling &/or the returning of pallets and containers to source using returning transport. Furthermore our employees are trained in efficient skip management and on-site waste processing.
We aim to make all of our homes, developments and other construction energy-efficient and to this end we create homes and extensions that exceed average Government Energy Ratings.
In pursuit of our environmental goals, Noakes Building Services is committed to the following through a programme of continual improvement:
Ensuring our operations comply with relevant environmental regulations and our operations are conducted in a manner that prevents pollution and conserves resources.
Integrate environmental management into our business and decision-making processes and regularly measure and review our performance against predetermined objectives and targets.
Design energy efficiency into new buildings, improve energy efficiency in existing buildings where possible and manage energy wisely in all operations.
Seek to use materials efficiently to minimise waste and promote re-cycling or re-use in all operations.
Reduce wherever practical the level of harmful emissions within our business activities, particularly with regard to site equipment and vehicles.
Promote with our suppliers, partners and sub-contractors the benefits of adopting sound environmental practices.
Protect visual amenity by ensuring that our projects are designed and built to a high level of aesthetic quality.
Support our staff in implementing our policies in accordance with their roles and responsibilities within the business.
The commitment of this business to the promotion of Health and Safety and Welfare measures is seen as an essential objective for both management and employees at all levels.
Health and Safety is of prime importance to us and we will seek to conduct our business in such a way as to avoid harm to all our stakeholders (employees, clients and partners) and anyone else who may be affected directly or indirectly by our activities.
It is therefore the policy of our business, in accordance with current legislation, to carry out suitable and sufficient assessments of the risks to Health and Safety of employees, and to other persons who may come in contact with the business or its products.
To assist in achieving these aims the business in particular recognises it has a responsibility to:
Provide and maintain safe and healthy working conditions by taking account of current legislation and appropriate advisory literature.
Make available all necessary safety devices and protective clothing/equipment and ensure it is to the appropriate standards and is worn and used at all times.
The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, together with other related regulations, places specific responsibilities on both employers and employees. It is our Company policy to comply fully with this legislation and, in doing so, we will consult with all employees and all other stakeholders on Health and Safety matters.
Furthermore, we fully recognise procedures detailed by the Health and Safety Executive and each development or project we undertake and where required will have a trained CDM Coordinator (Construction Design and Management Coordinator) appointed in the first instance.
Finally, a Health and Safety handbook has been developed by the company to cover the Health and Safety issues which impact upon our business.
We will always treat your property with respect, keep mess to a minimum and ensure that we leave the premises in a clean and tidy condition. Our staff are polite, of a smart appearance at all times and keeping appointments with our customers is a top priority as we appreciate that bad time keeping is as costly to you as it is to us. Wherever practical we will carry out all works at a time convenient to you.
We specialise in the provision of construction services and residential and commercial property development. Noakes Building Services provides services to a range of individual, private and commercial clients.
It is our policy to actively promote the highest standards of professional conduct in an environment that encourages mutual respect and positive communication. We consider that all our stakeholders are essential in contributing to the success of the organisation and are encouraged to be open and honest and maintain the highest level of integrity.
We recognise that quality assurance is critical to the success of the business and that we have established quality assurance procedures to ensure critical activities are planned, managed and reviewed effectively in conjunction with relevant personnel, clients and sub contractors.
An ethos of perpetual improvement is encouraged and this ensures that the company's business and quality requirements are identified and consistently managed, controlled and improved.
